Celebrating Pride and Community with Jan Kratzer of LoDough Bakery
Jan Kratzer, a culinary school graduate from Austria, began with craft cocktails but returned to his love for food, founding LoDough Bakery. Reflecting Dairy Block’s spirit of inclusivity, vibrant celebrations, and community support, whether you’re here for the delicious baked goods or the colorful events, Dairy Block is a place where everyone is welcome and celebrated.
Q: Can you share how LoDough Bakery reflects your personal values or mission as an LGBTQ+ entrepreneur?
A: We take immense pride in our craft, show deep respect for one another, and spread love to everyone. My mission is to create an environment where both my team and our customers feel loved and respected, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
Q: If there’s one message, you’d like to tell Diry Block visitors, what would it be?
A: I encourage anyone walking down our Alley is to take a moment and absorb your surroundings. If you look around, you can see many details on the walls, the floors, and every person that passes you. Our micro-district is filled with vibrant colors. I hope you can see yourself in them.
Q: Can you share how LoDough Bakery celebrates Pride?
A: Pride allows us to showcase our love for baking through vibrant colors. This year, we are introducing Individual Unicorn Cakes, Rainbow Croissants, and various other rainbow-themed pastries and bread.
